Hi, I'm Maddy!
I've been practicing yoga for over a decade and have been teaching since 2015. I'm excited to encourage self-empowerment through yoga, building strength and improving flexibility, creating a space where people can truly release and relax, all while having lots of fun along the way!
My style has evolved over the years and you can now find me teaching weekly Mixed-Ability Vinyasa/Hatha classes, super-charged dynamic Vinyasa classes and gentle, introspective restorative classes.
WHAT IS YOGA?
LINKING MIND + BODY
Yoga has been around for thousands of years, originating in India. It is a whole body practice for the mind, body and spirit. Hatha yoga is an umbrella term incorporating most other types of yoga within it. 'Ha' means Sun and 'Tha' means Moon, while 'Yoga' translates as 'yoke' or union. Therefore the practice of Hatha Yoga is the unison of the Sun and the Moon or these energies within the body. It could be interpreted as uniting the mind with the body.
In terms of what to expect on the mat you will find a complete practice incorporating mindfulness techniques, awareness of the self, breathing practices, light meditation, strength and flexibility training and a fun inclusive atmosphere!
